Alternative Concept 7:
Conservation First
Overview
Alternative Concept 7 would maximize open space conservation by concentrating all development north of Willow Pass Road and in the area north of Highway 4. The open space, mostly in conservation, would extend from Highway 4, east of the creek, to the southern end of the site. The alternative also would allow for active recreation areas south of Willow Pass and west of Mt. Diablo Creek.
- Achieves a maximum of open space, mostly in conservation, through concentration of development in a small area of the site
- Open space on the ridgeline and creek and over most of the site, with recreational facilities south of the creek near existing neighborhoods
- Major focus on transit oriented development at BART, with mixed-use housing and jobs
- 40% single family and 60% multi-family residential development including town homes, apartments, and condominiums
